Terrorism, diaspora voices, Islamaphobia, inequality, “a Britain that works for all”. These themes continue to haunt the UK, demanding attention from citizens and politicians alike. And rightly so – the importance of understanding religious, political, and identity politics has never been so pressing.
The Identities and Politics programme at Agora covers a variety of topics concerning identity, politics, religion, and minority cultures within the United Kingdom. We specifically explore diaspora identities and how they are transformed in Britain, the surprisingly tenuous yet cosy relationship between religion and political action and policies, and how identity politics are continuing to play a stronger and stronger role in the political sphere, especially post Brexit.
